History

Born from the original ATL Wants MLS campaign launched in 2011, Terminus Legion evolved over years of hard work and dedication to Atlanta soccer, more than 3,000 petition signatures, and the continued momentum and ever-increasing local fan support for an MLS expansion team.

With the stage finally set for a looming announcement around an Atlanta expansion team, Terminus Legion incorporated in 2014 as a Georgia non-profit held a launch event at 5 Seasons Brewing’s Westside location in February of 2014. A crowd of more than 200 picked up their membership kits, enjoyed homespun Atlanta soccer camaraderie and took in some truly breathtaking views of our city skyline—and the location of the new arena. Then in April of the same year, we celebrated downtown for the MLS Atlanta announcement.

Terminus Legion helped fill the venue for the unveiling of the Atlanta United name and crest in July 2015 and attended Atlanta United events while waiting for the team to kick off. TL also helped raise money for Soccer in the Streets with FootGolf tournaments and other fundraising efforts.

Finally in March 2017, the day arrived. Terminus Legion joined a sold out crowd at Bobby Dodd Stadium as Atlanta United kicked off their inaugural MLS season against the New York Red Bulls.  From there, TL attended every home match, complete with a full tailgate, march to the match and loud and passionate support around Bobby Dodd Stadium and Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Our goal is simple: To unite and grow Atlanta soccer at the highest level and make a difference on and off the field. It’s never too late to get on board with Terminus Legion. We welcome all fans of all backgrounds, regardless of your experience or location.
