A taste. CFCvATL was just a taste of what’s to come.
As announced, the tailgate started bright and early at 10am with Chattanooga FC supporters group The Chattahooligans hosting a tailgate at the First Tennessee Pavilion. Terminus Legion pulled up early and set up for a wonderful event, complete with cornhole, live EPL action on the big screen and plenty of fellowship.
About 90 minutes ahead of kickoff, TL received word that the Atlanta United bus was about to arrive, so everyone headed to the players’ entrance to greet the team. Tata Martino and his men walked off the bus to a crowd enthusiastically welcoming them to their first match.
The support continued as each of the Atlanta United Supporter Groups marched in and met on the patio just inside the front gate before marching through Finley Stadium to the grassy area behind the goal. After the National Anthem, a joint tifo created by Chattanooga FC and Atlanta United supporters was unveiled, with the message: A Journey Begins, A Legacy Continues.
The match saw Atlanta United take the field for the first time, with two different groups of players in each half securing the 4-0 win. A bonus was the release of the secondary kit at halftime and some lucky TL members were lucky enough to get one at a halftime presentation.
Finally, after the match everyone headed back to their home bases across the Southeast. Focus now turns to the Carolina Challenge Cup March 18-25 in Charleston, SC. Terminus Legion will be in attendance at all three matches at MUSC Health Stadium against Columbus Crew, Seattle Sounders and Charleston Battery.
